The Akai Amulet

Session 4.0

So the party spent all their time talking amongst themselves.

All that really happened was that they flew to Sekai, talked to Mordekai and learned a bit more about dragons and stones, flew to Ao and found out that trading division of Sylvester Tails LLC had disbanded itself from the company and tried to steal the money, and flew to Shiro to talk to Jeffery.

In Shiro they convinced Jeffery to sell his house and come back adventuring with them. He apparently had a wife who apparently left him and he was now drunk and depressed. Evayna and Sylvester cheered him up and so he agreed to join them.

Now the party is heading to Kumo in search of more dragons and stones.

third sesh
aw yeah we killed a motherfucking dragon

there are warforged all over the place in hoshi and the gnomes just bitch them around

the dragon we killed implied that the red dragon was its dad. also that it was a teenaged girl.

we (Sylvester Tails LLC) have an airship named the Epoch but Sylvester calls it ‘the Eavesdropper’, possible a sign of his burgeoning insanity

Second time around
I have a hard time remembering now...

The basic rundown of the evening: The party left from Amaterasu for Hashi, looking to get information from Mordekai. After traveling for a little under a week they arrived, and were immediately approached by a small creature (that was following them). This creature was Mordekai, who had been transformed into a pseudodragon by an evil wizard (he claimed) and was kicked out of his academy. The party agreed to help him get back what he’d lost and after infiltrating the tower and killing some hostile mages, they discovered the evil wizard. They took him out and came to realize he had been controlling many of the people in the tower.

Once Mordekai had been returned to his human form he removed the bounty on Sylvester’s head. He met with Evayna and Travis about the stones and the dragon’s activity, and gave them any information he had pertaining to their quest (as well as a fine reward for helping him). Soon after discovering that the red dragon had headed east, the party agreed to sail to the next continent over (Hoshi) and try to catch up with it. Sylvester had bought tickets ahead of time (!) and so once the party reached Amaterasu they boarded and sailed instantly, taking Murdock with them.

The sailing itself was calm and simple, but tempers rose and deceit struck the hearts of our party. On the first night Travis became aware of Sylvester’s treachery (selling the items he was entrusted with) and stole all of Sylvester’s belongings he could find – throwing them overboard as revenge. Vox and Sylvester heard him stir in the night and found Travis up on deck. After threatening to throw him overboard they calmed themselves and went back to sleep.

A few days later, Vox attempted to murder Murdock in his sleep. Unfortunately for Vox, Murdock awoke as we was preparing to strike and ran out of the cabin up onto deck. During his attempt to alert the captain, Murdock was brutally destroyed by Vox. The captain sentenced Vox to stay below deck for the rest of the trip, and the crew gave Murdock a burial at sea.

The party has just arrived on the shore of Hoshi, and as the boat prepares to sail back to Sekai, the party prepares to enter the gnomish jungles.

The First Encounter
What happens when you get these guys in a room together.

Ok, so here’s the rundown of our first, 12-hour session.

Everyone was in Shiro, and they got a quest from a woman named Freya to save her lover and her lover’s daughter (Kali and Ahn respectively). When they left for the Shiro Ruins they encountered enraged owlbears and a small doppelganger’s body (which they came to know was Ahn).

Inside the ruins they found more owlbears, a stash of rubies, and Kali. She stood in front of an altar, holding upon it a glowing red stone, and when she saw them she attacked. The party ended up killing Kali, reverting her to her natural doppelganger form, and the stone stopped glowing brightly, but still pulsed slightly. They took it with them back to Shiro.

When they got back to Freya they (Sylvester) lied about killing Kali and about the survival of the party, and questioned her about their inhumanity. She was clueless and distraught, and gave them a hat of disguise. Evayna then told gave Freya a ruby and her lover’s shell necklace, and later returned disguised as Kali to tell her that she loves Freya but she’s dangerous and she needs to leave and find out what happened.

The party left to question Murdock and sell their loot. After asking him for all his information about the ruins and about dragons, they convinced him to seal the ruins. As he left, they began to rob his home and steal everything valuable he had. Being informed of this break-in he returned, and after struggling with Sylvester and Grittinius he was kidnapped by them and taken to Amaterasu.

After helping them escape the town safely Jeffery decided to remove himself from the chaos and return home to Shiro. He caught a boat back the same day.

Now Murdock has been convinced to stay with the party temporarily to help them gather information. His loyalty is questionable though.

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
